It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet and share what you have been and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organize yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit, comment, and add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date.
Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kid-lit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle-grade novels, young adult novels, or anything in those genres – join them.
Personal
- Nothing too much happened in my personal life this week.
Blog/Reading/Gaming
- Things pretty much stayed the same with my reading and blogging.
- In Planet Zoo, I added European Peacock Butterflies (exhibit), Formosan Bears (habitat), and Gharials (habitat). I expect to be on the Gharials for a while since they take 14 years to mature. In-game time, that translates to about 1-2 days of playing.
What I am Reading Now
A Bewitching Interactive Scottish Time Travel Romance—Magic, Mystery, Steamy Romance, Treasure, A Loch Monster, and a whole lot of Hunky Highlanders –from #1 Bestselling Time Travel Romance Author Lorraine Beaumont.
When Paige Walsh attends the annual Highland Games on Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina and makes a deal with a Gypsy she has no idea that her illustrious plans to find a Hunky Highlander for her own would backfire and instead of one man wearing a kilt, she somehow ends up in the past facing an entire clan of Hunky Highlanders.
What I plan to read this week
Arienna Austin is a girl on a mission. Her family was murdered by vampires five years ago and she has trained long and hard to become a hunter. She finally encounters the nest of bloodsuckers who ruined her life and she intends to exact her revenge on them all.
In a horrible twist of fate, she becomes one of the very creatures she’s been stalking and her entire world is turned upside down. If the hunters who took her in and trained her learn what she has turned into, she will become their next target.
A chance encounter with a sexy Scottish hunter changes everything. Connor McAllister is more than he seems. He is a shapeshifter who works for a secret organisation known as the Hunter Elite. Ari is exactly the sort of creature the team needs on their side. That is if the supernatural monster killers allow her to live. She must prove she isn’t a danger to humans, or she suspects that she won’t leave their compound alive.
Sometimes the fall is only the beginning.
In the year 2048, the crumbling remnants of western North America are suddenly buried in ash, weakening the grip of the brutal dictatorship. A factional landscape springs from the ashes, con man Luke Stokes artfully navigating the clash.
But he can’t remain above the fray for long, as each faction seeks the truth from Luke regarding his murdered brother’s final project. A neural-interface technology that will forever shift the fragile balance of the ashen plains.
With the true believers, desert nomads, survivalists and existing regime closing in, Luke must delve deeper into his genius brother’s secrets. And the truth about his last project will dramatically alter the remnants of civilization.
Because the fall isn’t always the end – sometimes, it’s only the beginning.
