It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?—June 22nd, 2026

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet and share what you have been and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organize yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit, comment, and add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and was then hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date.

What I am Reading Now

LAPD Homicide Detective Kate Sexton is running on empty. Her fiancé is missing. The life of the father she has never known is at risk. And, the world’s most wanted terrorist is coming for her. As Kate considers walking away from the city and the job she loves, there’s a homicide case to solve and there’s an end game in play.

Can Kate outwit a deranged killer the press has dubbed The Reaper and stop a terrorist that has haunted her life and destroyed her family? She knows it will take every bit of skill and cunning she has left. This is the end game; a poker hand where the death card is in play. It’s all in, win or die!

What I plan to read Monday and Tuesday:

The final book in the Hollywood Alphabet Series is here! LAPD Detective Kate Sexton has finally found her biological father and she’s ready to call it a career. But when she learns the husband and best friend of a famous actress have been murdered and the actress has gone missing, she agrees to take one final case. It’s up to Kate to find the killer and determine if the actress has met the same fate.
At the same time, Kate’s on the trail of the world’s most wanted terrorist, the man responsible for destroying her family and haunting her life. What follows is a deadly cat and mouse game where every ounce of skill and determination is in play. This is the final hand in a poker game where the death card has been dealt. It’s winner take all, kill or be killed.

Two years out of college, Angelica Bondesan spends her time working as a barista, keeping in touch with her prodigal brother, and trying to figure out how to bridge the gap with her father, a wealthy real estate developer.

But all of that changes the night she’s kidnapped. Thrown into a windowless room, Angelica is positive there’s been some kind of mistake — until she meets Nico Vitale.

Gorgeous and frightening, Nico became the boss of New York City’s Vitale crime family after the execution style murder of his parents two years earlier. Since then he’s turned the old-school mob into a sleek, modern army of ruthless men who understand that physical violence — while always an option — isn’t the only way to get what you want.

Now Angel is forced to face the truth;

Her father is not the man she believed him to be.

Nico Vitale is dangerous, possibly lethal.

She is falling in love with Nico Vitale.

This is not your mother’s mob.
