What I am Reading Now
Things could be worse for LAPD Detective Kate Sexton and her canine partner, Bernie. Okay, so they’re being evicted from their home and plan to move into a haunted house in the Hollywood Hills with Kate’s wild and crazy best friends, Natalie and Mo. There’s also the fact that Kate’s on the trail of two killers wanted for gruesome murders, one that strikes close to home. Oh, and I almost forgot, Kate learns something about her biological father that turns everything she knew about her family upside down. Come to think of it, maybe things couldn’t get any worse, because this is Kate’s life. Can Kate solve two of the most challenging homicide cases she’s ever worked, deal with a terrorist who may be her father, and survive living in a house of horrors with her best friends? Only time, loads of trouble, and tons of laughs will tell. Hollywood Rage, book eighteen in the Hollywood Alphabet Series, has more twists and turns than an Academy Awards ceremony where the wrong movie wins an Oscar!
WARNING: The Hollywood Alphabet Series contains adult language and laugh out loud situations not for the faint of heart. If you think you can handle Kate Sexton’s crazy life . . . order Hollywood Rage today!
What I plan to read Monday and Tuesday:
After a violent terrorist strike hits Los Angeles that has ties to Kate Sexton’s past family issues, the LAPD homicide detective is sent to work with the FBI to get her out of the line of fire. Kate soon realizes that her new assignment is no picnic when she’s assigned to help hunt down a killer known as the Angel. What follows is a series of crimes that are more bizarre and baffling than anything Kate has ever encountered.
When the case goes cold, Kate is sent back to Hollywood where her meddling best friends, Natalie and Mo, offer their insight and enlist her help in finding their missing boss. While Kate tries to deal with her friends’ issues, she goes back to work on a high-profile case involving the murder of one of Hollywood’s best-known actors.
Hollywood Scream has more twists and turns than the world’s fastest rollercoaster as Kate tries to solve two high-profile murders, deal with her crazy home life, and elude the world’s most dangerous terrorists!
Hollywood Taken, book twenty, in the Hollywood Alphabet Series, finds Detective Kate Sexton and her canine partner Bernie investigating the murder of an au pair for a wealthy couple. What initially looks like a sex crime takes on added dimensions when other girls are murdered. Kate soon realizes that she’s on the trail of a sex-trafficking ring that reaches into the highest echelons of Hollywood’s powerful elite.
Things become even more complicated when Kate’s superiors want her out of town because a terrorist group with ties to her deceased father is active again. While Kate works a case in another jurisdiction, things in Hollywood turn dark and sinister as the terrorists converge on the city and the killing spree continues. Can Kate solve two crimes and stop the terrorists, at the same time she keeps her meddlesome best friends, Natalie and Mo, out of trouble? Only time, lots of twists and turns, and loads of laugh-out-loud humor will tell.

What I am Reading Now
LAPD cop Kate Sexton is back in Hollywood after taking a much needed vacation with her canine partner, Bernie.
Hollywood Games is a puzzle that begins with a tough but vulnerable cop trying to put her life back together. Add in a hyperactive canine partner who’s already sired a love-puppy named Bubba, a new homicide partner who is allergic to dead bodies, and Kate’s meddling best friends, Natalie and Mo, who think they’re the world’s greatest private detectives.
The puzzle pieces are scattered when a high-profile realtor is found murdered, floating in his hot tub, and his partner looks good for the crime. But Kate isn’t convinced and works the case until she realizes the killing might have ties to the victim’s many love interests and the largest gang in Hollywood.
The final pieces of the puzzle come into play when Kate’s love life takes an unexpected turn, she has to move on short notice with her friends into a spooky dilapidated mansion owned by a deceased actor, and the city is threatened with a gang war.
Join Kate as she struggles to repair a personal life that’s gone off the rails while she tries to solve a crime with more twists and turns than a street in the Hollywood Hills. Throw in equal parts of humor and suspense, and you’ve got Hollywood Games, the seventh novel in the funny, crazy, wild lives of Detective Kate Sexton and her canine partner, Bernie.
What I plan to read Monday and Tuesday:
Hollywood Homicide, the eighth book in the funny, crazy, wild lives of Detective Kate Sexton and her canine partner, Bernie, opens with Kate’s career taking a new turn when she’s assigned to LAPD’s new homicide unit, Section One. Kate soon realizes that Section One cases are the highest profile and most difficult homicides in the department. After teaming with her new partner, Ted Grady, Kate responds to a horrific crime scene where she finds the body of Hollywood Starlet, Scarlett Endicott.
All signs point to a Hollywood fixer, Pearce Landon, having been at work trying to clean the crime scene before leaving in a hurry when the police were called. Kate isn’t convinced of Landon’s involvement and sets out to find Scarlett’s real killer, at the same time the fixer tries to prove his own innocence. As Kate tries to deal with a difficult new boss and find the emotional strength to deal with her past relationships, she and Ted have to deal with some of Hollywood’s elite power brokers, a psychiatrist known as the “shrink to the stars,” and a hired killer.
Throw in Kate’s meddling best friends, Natalie and Mo, and a past homicide that becomes a suddenly hot cold case, and you’ve got all the ingredients for another great ride through the streets of Hollywood.
Join Kate as she tries to put her personal life back in order, at the same time she tries to solve one of the most difficult crimes she’s ever encountered. Hollywood Homicide explodes with all the thrills, twists, and turns that have made the Hollywood Alphabet Series an instant success.
LAPD Detective Kate Sexton and her canine partner Bernie are back, along with hard-headed FBI agent Joe Dawson, in Hollywood Intrigue, the ninth book in the Hollywood Alphabet Series Thrillers.
It’s a new year and a new start for Detective Kate Sexton. Kate’s just moved into new digs, she’s adjusting to life in LAPD’s elite homicide unit, Section One, and she’s moved on from her past relationship troubles. But all that suddenly changes when Kate and her partner, Ted Grady, get called to the scene of one of the most horrifying homicides they’ve ever worked. What follows is a string of killings that’s bizarre, even by Hollywood standards. As they work the crime scenes and chase after a killer called The Prophet, Kate realizes he’s taken a personal interest in her.
Throw in Kate’s meddling best friends and private investigators, Natalie and Mo, and a hard-boiled, trash talking FBI agent she’s worked with before named Joe Dawson, and you’ve got all the ingredients for another wild and crazy ride through the streets of Hollywood.
Here is what I am reading, what I recently finished, and what I plan to read from Thursday to Wednesday.
Let me know if you have read or plan to read any of these books!!
What I am currently reading:
Things could be worse for LAPD Detective, Kate Sexton. Okay, so her ex-husband cheated on her and the DVD of his indiscretions made the rounds of the entire department, she’s broke and living above an appliance store with her canine partner, Bernie, who is a sexual predator, her British friend, Natalie, has a vocabulary that would make Howard Stern blush, and her mother is hallucinating about having sex with a dead president.
But things could get worse, like Kate could be stalked by a sadistic serial killer while she tries to solve a thirty year-old murder and save the life and reputation of a cop wanted for the crime. Come to think of it, maybe things couldn’t get any worse because this is Kate’s life.
Can Kate elude the killer, solve the cold case, keep Bernie’s sexual wanderlust under control, keep her best friend out of trouble, save a cop from death row, and find love again? Only time, loads of trouble, and tons of laughs will tell. Hollywood Assassin has more twists and turns than a car chase down Sunset Strip with a Hollywood starlet at the wheel.
Hollywood Assassin is the first book in the Hollywood Alphabet Series.
What I recently finished reading:
I never thought I would die at the age of seventeen.
My name is Paige. I live in Astoria, Oregon (the same town Goonies was filmed in). I have premonitions, but it’s weird because . . . well, they’re cryptic and spoken to me by a ghostly voice.
The voice told me I was going to die and since then, bizarre things have been happening to me.
My ears ring whenever my friend Matt comes around, and a yellow laser beam of light swipes across his iris.
When I was on a date with a really hot and mysterious guy (I think I’m falling in love with him, btw), I had the same encounter with a creepy stranger.
I found out today there are dark forces in this world and something special about me, a light that some of them can see and are afraid of.
My life is in danger.
But their leader has been seeking an enchanted object for thousands of years, and I’m the only one who can find it.
He needs my help.
I’m now deeply entangled in a hidden world of dark spirits, immortals, ancient secrets, and magick.
If I don’t comply with their demands, they’ll kill me.
If I do, Armageddon will happen.
What I plan on reading Thursday through Sunday:
LAPD Detective Kate Sexton and her canine partner, Bernie, return in this edge-of-your-seat thriller with laugh-out-loud humor. Hollywood Blood is the second book in the Hollywood Alphabet Series Thrillers.
If you think you’ve got problems, meet LAPD cop, Kate Sexton. She’s just been promoted to the department’s elite Robbery Homicide Division, along with her canine partner, Bernie, a first for the homicide unit. But things immediately go downhill when a famous singer’s manager is shot and killed during one of Kate’s mother’s psychic séances. While Kate tries to balance her troubled relationship with her mother and an ex-cop, things get even crazier when the killer strikes again . . . and again . . . and then targets those closest to the investigation.
As she tracks the killer, things turn even more bizarre when Kate learns the suspect in the homicides is the leader of a blood thirsty cult out for revenge. To make matters worse, Bernie’s sexual wanderlust is out of control, her best friend Natalie meddles in the case, and Kate’s boss thinks she’s leaking details about the murders to the press.
So you think things are crazy in Hollywood? Just wait, they’re about to get a lot crazier. Maybe it’s because LAPD homicide cop, Kate Sexton’s best friend, Natalie, has a new boyfriend who is brilliant but deranged. Or maybe it’s because Kate is now living with roommates and a landlord who make the Adams Family seem tame by comparison. Or maybe it’s because Kate’s canine partner, Bernie, is about to pay the price for some serious mischief. Or maybe it’s because Kate’s love life is like a rollercoaster, full of wild twists and turns.
A murdered Hollywood power couple, an escort service for the rich and powerful, an out of control canine partner, a love triangle, and a family secret that’s been buried for more than thirty years all combine to make Hollywood Crazy one of M.Z. Kelly’s most exciting thrill rides yet.
Hollywood Crazy continues the laugh-out-loud humor, crazy characters, and nail-biting excitement of the first two books in the series.
M.Z. Kelly is the author of three books in the Hollywood Alphabet Series Thrillers: Hollywood Assassin, Hollywood Blood, and Hollywood Crazy. And coming soon, the fourth book in the series, Hollywood Dirty!
Kate and Bernie are back in this edge-of-your seat thriller with laugh out loud humor. Hollywood Dirty is the fourth book in the Hollywood Alphabet Series Thrillers.

Things get complicated when LAPD’s new chief of police allows the press into the case. To make matters worse Kate’s love life is on the rocks, her roommates Natalie and Mo insist on interfering in the case, and her sexually obsessed elderly landlord, Nana, has taken in a clinically depressed Elvis impersonator. Oh, and one other thing. Kate is determined to get to the bottom of a thirty-year-old family secret that involves lies, betrayal, and murder.
Can Kate track down the killer, keep her friends under control, deal with Nana and Elvis’s lusty relationship, find love again, and finally uncover the truth behind her family secrets? Hollywood Dirty is loads of trouble, tons of laughs, and full of the dirty little secrets that makes the city of dreams famous.

Thirty years after Kate’s father was murdered in cold blood his killer is back and he’s coming for her. After the department decides to temporarily assign her to work with the FBI to get her out of harms way, Kate soon learns that things have gone from bad to worse when she’s assigned to help track down, The Artist, one of the most deranged and sadistic serial killers in the history of the agency. As The Artist’s killing cycle approaches, Kate teams with hard-headed FBI agent Joe Dawson who has recently come out of retirement to work the case. As Kate and Joe track the killer, things take an unexpected turn. The Artist returns to the place where his killing cycle began, at the same time Kate herself is stalked by the deranged mad man who shattered her family by killing her father when she was a little girl. Note: Each book in this series is written so that it can be read without any prior knowledge of any of the others. If you want to start on the last book and work backwards, or start in the middle, you can still enjoy the series without missing anything!

What I am currently reading:
The People are in a time of great need. The Prophecy of Light has been rediscovered, the Eternal Order constitutes a growing threat, and the IECS Archives may hold the key the People need to forever be free of An’s curse.
Moira the Reluctant, immortal Daughter of the renowned Rebecca Upton, journeys from her home in Ireland to assist with efforts to locate Sanctuary, the legendary refuge of the Seven Sisters. There, she meets Tom Fairfax, a reserved archivist tasked with organizing and modernizing the Archives. Tom is everything a Daughter could want in a future mate, handsome, intelligent, and kind. Above all, his touch arouses her in a way no other man’s ever has.
The moment Tom spied Moira, his heart tangled into a knot and hasn’t loosened since. The beautiful Daughter has a sharp tongue and a temper to match, and is not at all the kind of woman he dreamed of calling his own. In spite of the attraction he feels for her, Tom goes out of his way to avoid the fiery Daughter, determined to protect himself from certain heartbreak. Moira is equally determined to have him, regardless of his apparent infatuation with another Daughter.
When Moira’s brother is kidnapped, she and Tom are thrown together in a way neither anticipated, forcing them to trust one another or risk losing their budding love under the crushing weight of the Order’s never-ending quest for continued immortality.
What I recently finished reading:
Among the People, Hawthorne the Chronicler is well-known for two things: Her faithful rendition of their history and her inclination to behead those who betray her. To mortals, Hawthorne is better known as Al C. Hawthorne, a fantasy writer with a stellar imagination and a knack for complex stories. It is in this guise that she must track down the sources of comic book illustrator Aaron Kesselman’s modernized tales of Rebecca the Blade.
Hawthorne’s blunt words and lithe grace intrigue Aaron, enough for him to take her up on the offer of sharing her bed. Before he knows it, his heart begins the fall into love, a fall he’s willing to take if only he can persuade Hawthorne that she isn’t a two thousand year old immortal descended from one of the most ruthless warriors in British history.
The past isn’t the only obstacle standing in the way of true love. The Eternal Order is on the move, targeting key members of the People in their never-ending quest to extinguish the Light. Hawthorne soon learns that a strong arm and a sharp blade aren’t always the best weapons in a Daughter’s arsenal, especially when her heart is involved.
Daughters of the People: Immortal Amazons unjustly cursed, struggling to save their People, and their hearts.
What I plan on reading Thursday through Sunday:
Jerusha Mankiller has found herself in a lot of tight spots during her century and a half of living, but her current assignment takes the cake. Her mother, the formidable Blade, has sent her halfway around the world to investigate clues to the locations of Sanctuary and the City of the Sisters. The catch? Her cover is as the wife of her brother’s best friend, a former Delta Force Operator with a smart attitude and a wicked smile. Playing somebody’s husband isn’t a new cover for Drew Martin, but it’s the first time he’s partnered a woman he’s got the hots for. Unfortunately, Jerusha treats him like her kid brother, and when she’s not, she’s instituted a strictly hands-off policy. One kiss wouldn’t kill her, would it? And at least then he’d know if the wild attraction tugging at him affected her, too.Tracking down decades-old leads isn’t exactly easy, though. Soon, Jerusha and Drew have their hands full countering the problems cropping up around every corner. Someone is tailing them, the Shadow Enemy turns up in the unlikeliest of places, and an ancient Daughter sets her cap for Drew, leaving him wondering what could possibly go wrong next.
One unwanted gift. One great wrong. One chance to make things right…
Tony Solomon never wanted to be a time traveler. But when a freak accident gifts him with the ability to travel in time, he becomes an unwilling initiate in the Saturn Society, a secret society of time travelers. Determined to prevent his daughter’s murder, he violates the Society’s highest law and becomes a fugitive. But the Society refuses to tell Tony how to time-travel within his own life, so he seeks help from Charlotte, the woman whose life he saved during a prior trip to the past.
When Tony arrives in 1933 looking for answers, Charlotte is both thrilled and terrified to see her childhood hero. Loyal to the Society, she is honor-bound to bring to justice those who manipulate time for their own gain. In giving him sanctuary, she faces a terrible choice-condemn the man she loves and to whom she owes her life, or deny her deepest convictions by helping him escape and risk sharing his sentence.
